“Closing the Loop” refers to making the section of the Arkansas River Trail between Gill Street (to the west) and North Street (to the east) a safe corridor for traveling by foot or bicycle. This section is currently unsafe with a too narrow sidewalk and multiple busy street and entrance crossings. It has not had a substantial upgrade to be considered a part of the Arkansas River Trail which opened over 20 years ago.

The Arkansas River Trail is undoubtedly one of our city's greatest assets, offering residents and visitors alike a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the riverfront and surrounding natural areas. However, the current incomplete loop poses a significant obstacle to fully realizing the trail's potential.
